EVENING WORSHIP SERVICE 7:00 PMOffering: Dakota Christian School "Blessed is the Nation who looks to the Almighty for help; Yes, blessed are the people whose God is the Lord." WELCOME: At this time of year when we reflect on the Lord’s immense blessing given to this great expensive land, we give Him thanks and we ask for His continued mercy still. With our morning service today, we have joined the other churches of our town for a combined worship service. Tonight we welcome each one who is visiting with us as we worship together, asking our God to instruct us in His Word so that we might not live to self, to pleasure in this world, but so that we may live to Him, for service and for compassion to others.

Marilyn Van Driesen and her team arrived safely in China and have begun the summer session of ELIC in Harbin. Please pray for good health and energy and opportunities for Marilyn and the team. We commit into the care of our Great Physician the needs of each one that is sick, suffering, or alone that He who provides for every need, will hear every prayer of theirs, make His presence be felt, and give to them the health and the sustenance for their daily care.
Thank You to all that remembered us with phone calls and cards while I was in Rapid City Hospital. Also for the flowers, Gideon Bibles and all the food that was brought in after we returned home. We are especially thankful for your many prayers. Virginia Kuipers The Platte SERVE Host Team would like to invite everyone to the Commissioning Service on Sunday, July 12, 10:00 AM at the Platte Christian Reformed Church. We would also like to invite the "young at heart" to our Praise and Worship each evening, July 11-17 in the church sanctuary. It usually begins around 7:00. Our Spiritual Life Leader this year is Mr. Rob VanZante, who is married to Kari Niewenhuis VanZante. On Thursday, we will have our "day away" at Snake Creek. If anyone is willing to bring their boat, or if you just want to join us, we will leave Platte at 1:00. We covet your prayers during this week, both for safety and for spiritual growth. If you have any questions, please contact Ken Lieuwen. Platte CRC SERVE is doing a door-to-door food drive in the town of Platte for the Charles Mix Food Bank on July 16-17. If that date doesn't work or you live in the country and would like to donate, food donations may be placed in the box that will be located in the narthex. Items that are especially needed are cereal, personal care items and cleaning products. The food will be picked up on July 17 from the church. Thank-you for participating! --Platte CRC SERVE Team SERVE FOOD CRUNCH TIME: There are still a few SERVE food needs open yet as well as paper items needed for the week. We also need willing workers to help out with the food prep, serving and clean up on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Please check out the papers on the tables in the fellowship hall or call Harriett at 337-2545. Thank you to those who have already signed up. Time is getting short – they are going to be here this Saturday and we need YOU! COOKBOOK UPDATE: Fun & Fellowship would like you to continue to contribute recipes. At least 35 families have not contributed yet and we would like to have each family contribute at least one recipe. The recipes don't have to be original or unique; your favorite cookie/bar or hot dish or gelatin dessert recipes are always welcome. The cookbook will be a fun way to raise funds for future Fun & Fellowship events! CHRISTMAS IS COMING! Shoe boxes to fill with gifts for the children of Guatemala for Christmas distribution are on the table in the fellowship hall. There are papers with ideas there too. No soft candy, no playing cards, no toys that look like weapons. Please take as many boxes as you are able to fill. Please tape $5 for postage to the outside of each box. Checks should be made to Pat VanderPol. Bulk items are also welcome. Deadline is August 16. PRAYER REQUEST: Arabic-speaking families hear a special radio program produced by Back to God Ministries Inter-national every Thursday evening. The family program airs on the Middle East's most popular radio station immediately following the news. Praise God that many listeners have tuned in to this program "by accident" and others (including Muslim converts) have become faithful followers, not just of the radio program-but of Jesus Christ! THE CHURCH WITHOUT COMPROMISE: The pressures in our lives often require us to make decisions. Bad economies make difficult decisions about where to spend money necessary. Even ensuring survival after natural disasters brings difficult decisions. But do these decisions ever force you to make compromises? What does the Bible say about faith and compromise? Find out on the July 12 Back to God Hour. Visit BacktoGodradio.net to find a station in your area or listen to a sermon. You can also download our podcast. No station in your area? Can't listen on-line? Call or email to request a CD to be sent to you. Rags, rags, and MORE rags are needed for SERVE. If you have any you are willing to donate, please bring them to the kitchen this week. The rags and buckets are needed for car washing and painting, and clean-up.
