Next Sunday is Pentecost, a time to celebrate the Holy Spirit and the global work being done as extensions of our church. We have supplied an eight day devotional to help prepare your hearts and minds, so that through World Missions the entire CRC membership may know itself joined to a global church and the world-wide work of the Spirit of Pentecost. Start your devotional today! HELP! To make our church anniversary a great event, we need everyone's help. We need you to invite your children, extended family, and the former members you still correspond with. Four of our former pastors will be attending and, as of now, two interim pastors. The updating of the church history is also progressing nicely. We would like to have a table with articles of memorabilia and pictures to display. If you have anything you would be willing to share, please contact Mae Lieuwen, 337-3807; Evelyn Severson, 337-3556; or Darlene Van Zee, 337-3739. SING A NEW SONG! The Choir will be singing for the 125th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, June 29. If anyone would like to join us, come to practice next Sunday, May 11. Dakota Christian School Cleaning will be held on May 19 and 20. If you have children attending DC, you will be receiving information in your church mailbox or the postal service. Please check your mailboxes and post the information on your calendars. If you did not recieve any information, contact Shauna VanderPol or Camielle Veenstra. The next DC Scrip Program order date is May 13. There will be 5 weeks until the June order, and 5 weeks to the July order, so plan ahead! Just a reminder that early orders are welcomed! Order forms can be found at the back of the church, or on the DCS website. Orders can be given to Joan Niewenhuis, mailed or delivered to DCS. PRAYER REQUEST: Pray for listeners who hear The Back to God Hour Japanese program Hour for Christ in the Kochi prefecture of Japan. "Many of them live in places where there is no church," reports Rev. Masao Yamashita, BTGH Japanese ministry leader. "Our program is the only channel through which they hear the Word of God." BEYOND ENLIGHTENMENT: Meditation. This common practice is often recommended for calming or focusing one's mind and body. With many ideas and opinions on how it should be done, how do you know if it's a good thing? Tune in to the May 11 Back to God Hour to learn more. Go to www.BacktoGod.net for local stations and times. The DCS High School Concert will be on Thursday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held in the DCS gymnasium, and prelude music performed by the students will begin at approximately 7:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!
