WITHIN OUR FELLOWSHIP

Next Sunday, Pastor Dave will lead services at Corsica CRC as Classical pulpit supply. We will welcome Mr. Barry Miedema and Mr. Brad Veurink to our morning and evening services.

At their request, the membership records of Kent and Nancy Kuipers and their children; Anne, Sarah, and Emily, have been sent to Faith Evangelical Free Church, Fall Creek, WI. May each one be a blessing in their new church home.

At his request the membership records of Steven Van Genderen have been sent to First Reformed Church, Mitchell, SD. May he be a blessing in his new church home.

We pray that the Lord will send the gift of healing to each one who suffers from pain, disease, or wounds, [even of the heart]. May the Great Physician, who journeyed on the earth from Bethlehem to Galilee to Calvary, also walk beside each one who searches and prays for the leading of His Hand.

ATTENTION CRAFTERS: All crafters are welcome to bring their projects for a couple of hours of crafting fun in the fellowship hall Wednesday, February 10, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Any questions: call Mary (337-3267) or Patrice (337-3859).

The CADET PINEWOOD CAR DERBY will be this Wednesday, February 10, at 7:00 p.m. at the Platte Community Building. Everyone is welcome.

WOMEN'S BRUNCH: On behalf of the Fun and Fellowship Committee, we want to invite you to the Women’s Brunch, February 13, at 10 AM. Join us in sampling recipes, listening to Jackie Niewenhuis speak, and playing games provided by Linda DeHaai. Nursery will be provided. In an effort to reach women from the surrounding communities, we have invited members from area churches to be our guests. Because the event is hosted in our building, we are asking our church body to supply the food. Would you prayerfully consider bringing an item from our cookbook, “Heavenly Dishes” to share? A free will offering will be taken at the door for those coming from other churches and individuals from our fellowship who are unable to bring a dish. We have placed a response slip in each mailbox to help us with food and attendance. Suggestions for which type of foods are needed have been placed on some slips. Please fill out your slip today and return to Heidi Bosma’s or Tiffany Sybesma’s mail box. Thank you !

The VALET Schedule for 2010 is being made. If you would like to valet a month at a time instead of at random times throughout the year, please drop a note in the secretary's box or leave a message at 337-3572 this week. The valet service is an important weekly service, please let the secretary know if you would be willing to help.

"DINING WITH 9": Today is the last day to sign up to be a part of a "Dining with 9" group. Next week groups will be randomly formed and Pam Veurink will put a list of the groups in your mailbox. Remember: this is for EVERYONE - singles, couples, families, ages 9 - 99!

Sunday Evening Bible Study will finish the study "What's So Amazing About Grace" taking session 10 on February 14. EVERYONE IS WELCOME.

PRAYER REQUEST: Please continue to pray for our legislators on the national and state level as they make decisions on bills and legislation. Pray that they might protect the lives of the unborn and vote according to God's principals.

Prayer Chain # 2 will provide Nursing Home devotions next Sunday, February 14, at 2:30 p.m.

"WERE YOU THERE?": A movement around the Stations of the Cross is the focus of the 2010 Joint Lenten Services to help us prepare to commemorate the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Rev. David Prince will begin the journey through the stations taking us to the Garden of Gethsemane (Feb. 21 at Trinity). Rev. Kevin Nelson will move us to the religious court (Feb. 28 at First Reformed). Rev. Harry Koops will bring us to the civil court (March 7 at Platte Christian Reformed). Pastor Dan Daum will take us to the station where the cross was picked up (March 14 at First Reformed). Rev. Carl Egstad moves us to the crucifixion (March 21 at Olive). Rev. Rick Slattery concludes the Journey with the promises (March 28 at Trinity).

The offerings received during these services will divided between our local SERVE projects and Compassion International for Haiti disaster relief. Checks should be made payable to: Platte Ministerial Association.

All services begin at 7:00 P.M. And are followed by a time fellowship and coffee. Please join our brothers and sisters in Christ for these Lenten Services to prepare our hearts for a deeper commemoration of our Lord's Passion and Resurrection.
